…I hope not, because I would really LOVE to “meat” you. Come on girls, be honest, would this really work on you? In a time where first impressions can be key, would you want this to be it? I guess in a way it might be a funny conversation starter to some but to others it might make you run in the other direction. We seem to keep coming back to this topic of where do you go to meet people. Are these dating apps really the way to go? How do we make time in our crazy, hectic lives to meet someone worthy of taking home to Mom?
Speaking of meeting new people, we had no idea that hostels were even a thing in this country. You hear about people traveling abroad, especially in Europe, traveling from country to country with just a backpack. You may even hear horrifying stories of peoples experiences from staying in hostels! Our experience at Drifter Jack’s Hostel was definitely memorable. Cool vibe, awesome local artwork, opportunities to meet different people from all over. We would highly recommend checking it out. Over the past couple of years we have heard more and more about this vibrant city in Texas. If you have a conversation with someone who has been to Austin, more times then not 6th Street is the first place that is brought up. After going there, it’s hard not to compare it to the up and coming town that we live in. Mass amounts of people walking down a street that is bar, restaurant, bar, restaurant, and so on. The pretty cool thing about it is that this “main street” is closed off to ALL vehicle traffic after 9PM on the weekends. If your car is parked on the side of 6th Street after 9PM there is a 100% chance that it will be towed. Austin is definitely a city that you need to visit over a course of a few days.
It has been a whirl wind of a couple day down in Texas this weekend and the stories don’t stop there. Let’s just say that I never made my Sunday morning flight and Dina never made it to Terminal D….but that’s a story for another time!
